Hello and Welcome to Athience...
We set up the forum some time ago, mainly for atheist discussion. Recently we were discussing how much most atheists value and relate to science and its evidence-based approach to understanding our world and the cosmos. Someone said something like, “Wouldn’t it be fantastic to have a magazine where we could discuss and share science, atheism, free thought, and their commonalities.” And someone else replied, “Yes, a publication where we can examine and analyse the way these methods of making sense of our existence interact with each other and impact humanity.”
We felt such a magazine would give us a vehicle for various views in the form of learned articles, stories and information, broaden our ability to widely disseminate scientific information without having to be concerned about religious perceptions, and also better enable us to make related political comment without fear or favour. And so Athience was born.
If you are interested in writing for us, or have an idea for a story you’d like to see, or just have comments about the magazine, please contact us.
We'd love your input on the forum, too. Whether you’re a scientist, a science enthusiast, an atheist, or a comb..ination of these, we want to hear from you. Even if you're none of the above, you're still welcome, so long as you play nicely and by the same rules as everyone else.
Our Mission Statement:
Athience will become the most sought after science and atheism publication available, enlightening and entertaining our readers with top quality articles and stories using the most thorough research and the highest journalistic standards of integrity and ethics.
