Penn Jillette An Atheist's Guide to the 2012 Election

penn jillette guide usa election

Penn Jillette rates the various candidates for the U.S. Presidency from the perspective of an atheist.

This is an interesting video about US presidents and how they are perceived religiously, and, whether those perceptions are correct.

For example, in this video you will learn that:
  • The most religious president in history is Clinton.
  • President Obama's church is about the same on the scale of religiousness as Sarah Palin's - (and he calls it crazy)
  • Many Atheists support Obama because they believe he's lying about being religious.
  • Liking someone AND thinking they are lying about their religion is a horrible reason to like them.
  • People get away with saying stupid or mean things, by claiming they are saying them in the name of Christianity.
But, the best thing is - you HAVE to hear what he says about Romney and his magic underwear and the craziness of religion on the whole - not just Mormonism.

But.. The piece-de-resistance of it all is Jillette's commentary of religious people being in charge of the law. He asks 'Why aren't people allowed to use 'but the snake told me to' to kill people'?

I also loved how he mentioned, as two crazy bible things, the Noah's Ark and Old age in the bible stories - JUST the stories we covered in Issue 1 of ATHIENCE!!!  YAY!!!

Excellent Video.

And, I agree - Religion is Bug-nutty-batshit-crazy.

i think it malignes batshit- dung has its uses
